Today was a bit of a challenging day. Long story short, we are back at Yakima Regional. MaryEleanor was struggling to breath comfortably without the trache and she was wearing herself out trying. ME did nothing wrong but she was just not up this next step, yet.
How often are you not only lucky enough to have a friend who is a nurse and takes action, but also to have a friend who is a doctor and makes a house call? MaryEleanor is. Rhonda and Marj were all over ME. A quick assessment of ME made the decision easy to move her back to the hospital. Marj rode in the ambulance to comfort ME on the quick trip.
So, we are back, temporarily, in the ICU. ME was running a bit of a temperature which is being addressed. Once stabilized, the plan is to return the trache and begin another transition plan.
These little setbacks are expected but never welcome. MaryEleanor will soon put this one behind her. ME was trying her best to work the plan in place and she will work harder to work the next plan.
ME was resting comfortably when I left a little bit ago. Probably better than the last couple of days. Sleep well kiddo!

I just have to say that God gets the work done as need be. The throngs of loving family and friends will continue to stay the course, pray, and show up. Dave, you are such a rock. Today was a mini crisis and you were so perfect for your wife. Thanks.

As much as we all want ME to recover quickly, this is all part of the plan. She is right where she needs to be right now. A mere "bump" in the road, just a little one.
She's one tough cookie, Dave and with all her friends & family praying for her, this bump will become a memory quickly.
I am sending you both a big hug!!!If M.E. hits a bump in the road we'll just slow down, drive carefully for a short time then pick up the speed again and continue on this journey!!
