This afternoon, Dr. Singel was able to get a significant response from M.E. to painful stimuli. M.E.'s nurse Lori called me as she was quite excited. She hadn't seen M.E. for almost a week she was feeling like her responses were not as good as the last time she saw her. Well, that changed this afternoon when Dr. Singel did his exam. He pinched, and M.E. opened her right eye wide and the left half way. He spoke to her and told her that her surgery was over and she smiled. WOW!!
I wish I had been there to see it. Lori said that there were definitely facial expressions :-)
No plan that we know of to move her out of the unit yet. Tomorrow may be the day they make that decision.
Today turned out to be a good one, for sure.
