Our new status quo

Things are moving along. She still gives us a big thumbs up with her Left thumb (a little tougher to get a response on the Right) And her eyelids like to flicker when we talk to her. It has to be tough work, trying to pull yourself out of that fog.

Looking forward to the tracheotomy tomorrow. That will ease the strain on her mouth and throat. She will also have a PEG tube inserted- a feeding tube directly into her stomach.

We have family coming in for the weekend, which is fabulous. Paul will be in town tomorrow afternoon and stay until Saturday. My man will be here Friday afternoon and we'll both go back to Seattle (SIGH) on Sunday afternoon. And perhaps more of Mom's Mama, plus brothers and sisters.

I will have to relinquish my control over the schedule with Mom starting early next week. But feel free to start emailing me your availability and I can forward it to whomever takes over that role. The schedule will still be the same: 2 shifts a day.

Thank you again for all your loving comments of support and prayers.

Caitlin,
This is great news for your mom and her continued recovery. I am sure your mom would want you to get back to your school even though it will be difficult. She will be just as stubborn as she needs to be to recover. :) I am available to help out as needed (I will let Judi know). Your strength for her, your family, and yourself has been amazing. Again, without having ever met you - your inner strength and caring has shown through. Distance is not an obstacle to your love and faith in her recovery. Your going back to school shows as much love for her and what she would have wanted as anything else you could do here. Keep your faith. Becki LeVon
