Sorry for the late morning post, I know many are anxious to see how she is doing this morning. She had a great night, no problems. By the numbers: blood pressure, hr, etc. she is solid.
About 8:30am we turned off the propofol, the medication keeping her sedated. She seems to be reacting to it well. Her numbers are remaining stable. She is waking a tiny bit. Some small movements of her arms and sometimes her legs. Again, we hope they are deliberate movements, but it can be hard to tell. The breathing machine is also turned down so she is initiating her own breaths. The machine is still assisting her somewhat, but she is doing more on her own than she was.
The nurse working with her today brought in a boom-box to help keep the room quiet. It does help drain out the talking and laughter that is outside her door at the nurses station.
Of course we're anxious to see what the day brings as the medication wears off more and more.
More later.
On a side note, since I'm in and out of the room more, my cell phone is silent and I can't be at the computer much. Just an FYI.

Caitlin, you are amazing. Thank you for keeping us updated and for being such a terrific daughter to your mother (and father). We truly appreciate this posting each and every time. If you need anything (favorite foods, bottle of wine, etc.) please let us know. We would love to help but just do not want to be in the way. Keep your faith and take care of yourself. I'm writing on behalf of all of ME's friends at LeMaster Daniels. We were sent the link to your blog this morning and I know that many, many of us have read your blogs and want you and your family to know we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
We all know what a strong woman your mother is. Keep the faith as we are and know that we are all here in our own manner pulling for ME.
Thank you so much Caitlin for writing this blog. It is a wonderful way to keep us all informed. Please let me know if we can do ANYTHING to help you or your family during this time.
