Winter Solstice

Hi all,
Daily posts are going to be difficult to maintain but we'll do our level best to keep you all informed of MaryEleanor's progress. Polly and Steve arrived from Lewiston, ID yesterday afternoon for a couple of nights. With extra hands around the house, ME and I can focus on important tasks like getting a few much deserved thank you notes out to those who have given the fundraising program such a wonderful start.

Not unlike many parts of the country, we woke up early this AM to huge white blanket outside. I know New England and the west side of Washington has endured similar weather over the past few days. I did enough snow removal early this morning to allow our night nurse assistant safe passage out of our driveway. It's a good thing the snow thrower has a headlight!

MaryEleanor is doing extremely well. It's like her recovery has accelerated. Her physical strength continues to grow every day. ME spent most yesterday conversing with everyone. Rhonda came straight from tennis to catch up with ME. It had been quite a while since Rhonda had seen ME and she was pleasantly surprised with her progress.

Polly and Steve were part of the Thanksgiving crowd at the U. They too were very pleased with the changes they saw in just a few short weeks. Weather permitting, ME will have two therapy sessions today!

This evening is the annual black tie Winter Solstice dinner, hosted by Rhonda and Mike Taylor. For the first time in several years, we will not be able to attend. ME, through me, sent an email to the Taylors last night expressing our regrets along with a promise to be in attendance next year.
