The Day Before The Day Before

Last night, Paul and enjoyed a fantastic evening together in Madison Park. Paul kinda missed the section in the local grocery store where they have frozen pizza, but we made do. We stayed up way past my bedtime talking about many things, mainly my life growing up in the '70's. It was an eye opener for him.

Paul and I did manage to roust out of bed this morning and fight the rush hour traffic of the elevators at the U and arrive at MaryEleanor's room by 8AM. This gave us both a chance for a chat with ME before the therapists arrived. By 9 ME was dressed and ready for the day.

Morning therapy sessions went very well. Paul headed north mid morning and I was distracted by phone calls and a couple of appointments. Reports later confirmed continued improvement by ME. Vicki, PT, told me that ME drove herself to the gym and back with no assistance and without using a sling to help support her arm.

ME's dexterity is improving immensely. Her visitors in Yakima need to be prepared to play cards and board games as ME is "all in".

Tomorrow will be an extremely busy day. Her last full day at the U will be full of testing, evaluations and planning for her discharge Wednesday. Several people told me today that they will not forget their experience with ME. MaryEleanor will be remembered as one their "favorites"!

How exciting!! There was never a doubt in my mind that ME would leave an impact on anyone she has touched there in Seattle. :)

Your friends here in Yakima are excited for you to get home and all situated. I'll be ready to take on the challenge of a card game anytime the need arises! Anything to get me out of the office! :)
