Hi everyone!
It's been a busy couple of days here as I am sure it has been for all of you. Grocery stores are packed to the gills. Do people only eat at Thanksgiving? Getting ready to spend the holiday with friends and family is what it's all about. That's exactly what is happening for us. "We" are again hosting the annual Raines family Thanksgiving this year, just not in Yakima. Same crowd, different cooks, definitely a different venue. As we all gather in a room to celebrate, the temperature will rise along with the laughter and love. Our wish to all of you is the same.....enjoy!
The report of MaryEleanor's continuing recovery over the weekend was all positive. Whereas we did post a special edition to the blog Saturday evening, rest assured ME had a great workout that day with her therapists. Paul and I spent the day together with ME/Mom, the highlight was watching the Apple Cup. The Apple Cup is the annual showdown between the U and WSU. This year it was the battle of the cellar dwellers. Needless to say the outcome did not give either team bragging rights.....right you Cougs out there!
A quick update on any fundraising efforts out there. The bank account is now open at WAMU. As the header states, you can walk into any branch across the country and contribute. Even though ME could access another 30 days of inpatient rehab on January 1, 2009, the real value to be had is to capitalize on where she is NOW.
I'm headed back to the big city tomorrow afternoon to be with MaryEleanor for five days! I need her to sign, yes sign, a couple of things for me. I promise to keep you all informed over the holiday weekend. Enjoy your football, dinner, football, sandwich, more football, desert and a nap! We will.

ME, Dave and family:
Will be thinking of you all during the holiday! I hope your Thanksgiving if filled with food, family, and fun. We are so happy with how well ME is doing over there - the blog is so helpful in tracking how things are going. Lots of Love to all of you! Becki & Bill LeVon
Hey ME and DaveBoy..keep that blog coming! We read it every day right before the Washington Post and the blog is much wittier, more informative and suspenseful and much more enjoyable!!...We wouldn't miss it!! The Messingers and the Kersteins have all decided to be Captains of the "Let's put ME back together again and get her home" ship with all our love..all the time you, dear ME, spent with those darling girl scouts certainly had an affect on their lives and ours and for that we will always be truly grateful..we hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we will be thinking of you over here on the "other" coast!...love, Bob.com, Susana, Kendall and Sky
ME, Dave, Caitlin, Dayton and Paul,
We think of you often and read the blog consistently. You can count on the Kersteins and Messingers to captain the East Coast Connection Team. We are so proud of ME and her strong determination. Our friends, Vonnie, Mary and Barry Enright (first grey house on Honey Locust) Carol Candler, and Susan Jensen (moved into the Candler's house), consistently read the blog and we discuss the strides ME continues to make. ME, you are a true inspiration.
As we enter the holiday season and Thanksgiving week, we hope you have time to celebrate together and want you to know that you are in our hearts. It is the enduring friendship that we have had with friends like you - even though we are separated by 3000 miles - that makes life meaningful.
Love, Holly and Skip
