Hi everyone!
I have every excuse imaginable for the break in posting. None of which are fair to you all.
The last 10+days have been packed with professional and family business. Many doctor appointments to determine "next steps" in MaryEleanor's recovery. A major decision made was to delay any surgery on ME's ankles. We have a new therapist coming in twice a week who firmly believes he can get ME walking without surgery. Sometimes traditional medicine is not the best option and we are making a move to explore this alternative.
MaryEleanor is now enjoying regular meals. Normal things for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lots of fruit, yogurt, soup, scrambled eggs and toast are now part of her regular regimen. The more ME eats, the less she has to be "fed".
We enjoyed our family this past weekend with Caitlin and Dayton, Paul and ME's Mom here. It was fun to have the volume cranked up a bit for a couple of days. Flowers were planted, great meals shared along with hilarious conversations. ME's sister-in-law, Elaine, closed out the weekend with a great visit.
This past Tuesday, the Menkes came over for dinner. We enjoyed great conversations, mainly about tennis as Tony is a ranking officer in the USTA. Last night found us over at our close friends, the Browns, for dinner. It was fun to get out of house. It was "normal". ME and I are both benefiting from these activities.
I describe MaryEleanor's recovery like a huge breaker box. Everyday she trips another breaker, sending a new signal. The breaker box is huge, but we are patient. She will trip them all, sooner or later.
Please be patient.
