Hi,
First of all, thanks go to Diane Allen for offering to auction a beautiful quilt. Congrats go to the lucky high bidder! MaryEleanor and her caregivers enjoy the other custom quilt from Diane that she gave ME while we were at the U.
Little things continue to happen that encourages us all that ME's road to recovery continues in the right direction. ME always covered up with a blanket when she would take a nap. Since August, ME has always requested a fan or an open window. This week she started asking for a blanket, even at night. Today, when her speech therapist was here, ME enjoyed a bagel. We now have the green light for scrambled eggs!
We are both sitting at the kitchen table as I type this entry. She just finished writing a dozen thank you notes and is now reading the mail. Her cunning sense of humor continues to surprise people that visit.
On Tuesday ME spent the better part of seven hours being interviewed/tested by a Neuropsychologist. The tests are designed to challenge each part of the brain in order to design a mental plan of care to retrain areas of weakness. She has three more hours of testing tomorrow. As ME described it, her synapses were exhausted!
We're truckin' along. Our plan for the weekend is to get out and visit some friends. The weather is supposed to be awesome, near 80!
I will report back soon!
